CLAPHAM AND PATCHING VILLAGES
Mrs Rosemary Cutbush has kindly donated a bound copy of the C&P Parish Magazines for 1933, which belonged to her grandmother Mrs Alice Maud Jacobs (nee Miles). Alice and her husband Harry lived at 132 The Street, Patching.

The relevant pages have been scanned; they give a fascinating insight into village life during the period.
There is one intriguing mystery: does anyone know what was the 'act of bravery' by Fred Daniels, who saved the life of Mr Barron? It must have been something significant, as he was awarded the Scouts' Silver Cross by Lord Baden-Powell (see the January issue).
